The landscape

Who actually helps construction tech companies reach contractors

The category is a mess. Search construction marketing agency and you get hundreds of firms, most of them general digital shops with a construction landing page. Almost none of them sell what a founder with a working product and no pipeline actually needs. Here's the real map.

    The five types

Five kinds of firm, and what each one actually does.

TypeWhat they sellBest forWhere it breaks
General digital agencySEO, PPC, web, contentLocal contractors buying leadsNo idea how a software sale to a contractor works
Construction SaaS marketing agencyDemand gen, positioning, content, paidCompanies with a sales team and no pipelineMarketing only. Doesn't touch channel or close deals
Building products marketing agencyManufacturer and distributor demand genBuilding materials brandsBuilt for materials, not software adoption
Fractional CROEmbedded sales leadership, RevOps, process, hiringCompanies with pipeline and broken conversionOne person, no distribution, no channel network
Rented GTM functionStrategy, implementation, and industry distributionProduct works, nobody knows it existsSmall firm, limited slots

The words overlap and the websites all look alike. The difference is what the firm is accountable for: activity at the top of the funnel, conversion inside a sales team, or the whole motion including who carries your name to the contractor.

    The named players

Who's actually operating in this space.

    ConTechGTM

Fractional CRO for ConTech and PropTech. Published rate card, embedded commercial leadership, RevOps and sales hiring. The closest direct comparable on the execution side.

    Right Left Agency

Construction SaaS marketing: strategy, SEO, paid, content, web, sales assets. A demand generation partner, not a sales owner.

    Construction Market Consultants

Broad AEC business development — prospecting, market research, CRM, recruiting. Wider than contractor tech.

    Venveo and TERAMOK

Building materials and manufacturer side. Channel and distributor demand gen for brands pushing product through supply.

    Hook Agency and RYNO

They sell to contractors, not to companies selling contractors. Different customer entirely — worth knowing so you don't waste a call.

    How to pick

Four questions that sort it fast.

    Do you have pipeline?

No pipeline is an awareness and distribution problem. Pipeline that stalls is a conversion problem. They need different firms.

Do you have a sales team?

A team with no process needs sales leadership. No team at all means somebody has to build the motion and hire into it.

Is your buyer the contractor or the contractor's supplier?

Selling through distributors and manufacturers is a channel job. Selling direct to owners is a trust and proof job. Most firms only do one.

Does the product hold up in the field?

If crews abandon it after two weeks, no agency fixes that. Spend the money on the product first.

    Where we fit

DriftWrx is the rented GTM function row.

We take on construction tech companies whose product works and whose market has never heard of them. Strategy, implementation, and industry distribution under one roof, with a contracted handoff at the end. We own the number while we're there, then we recruit and train the team that replaces us.

The leg the other rows don't have is distribution. Twenty years inside the contractor buyer — the podcast, the shows, the relationships across vendors, distributors, and manufacturers — means a client is visible to this industry in week one, not month nine.

Not sure which row you're in?

A GTM Diagnostic reads your buyer, your channel, and your competitive position, and ends in an honest go or no-go. Sometimes the answer is that you need one of the other firms on this page.
